The 8th International Foundry Congress, organized by the Turkish Foundry Association TÜDÖKSAD, was held between September 29 and October 1, 2016, in the 7th Hall of TURKCAST Fair in Istanbul Beylikdüzü TÜYAP Congress and Fair Center. In the congress, which was opened with the participation of the Minister of Science, Technology and Industry Faruk Özlü, TÜDÖKSAD Chairman of the Board Uğur Kocaoğlu, the President of the German Foundry Association Dr. Erwin Flender and TÜDÖKSAD Academy Executive Board Chairman Seyfi Değirmenci made a speech. Similar to the events held in 2012 and 2014, 253 delegates participated in the congress, which was held open to visitors in the fair area, according to the statistical record taken during the sessions. In the congress attended by more companies with 48 presentations compared to previous years, the main session topics are in line with the demands and predictions of the industry; competitiveness in the casting sector, casting technologies Iron-Steel, Non-Ferrous casting technologies, mold casting technologies, software and technology in the casting sector, innovation in the casting sector. The fact that 17 papers were presented by companies representing 10 different countries in the congress, which also attracted great interest from foreign participants, highlighted the international identity of the congress and the common denominators of the industry. The average viewership per session was 27.64. In addition, the congress, which has become an efficient sharing and analysis point in adapting to the developing technologies for the sector, took place in the fair area, and it was an interesting show for the fair participant companies and fair visitors.
Organized with the theme of "Sustainable Growth in the Turkish Foundry Industry" this year under the umbrella of TÜDÖKSAD Academy, the 8th International Casting Congress brought all stakeholders together by realizing the goal of sharing the academic, technological, economic, and managerial knowledge of the casting industry with the participants. Making evaluations after the 8th International Foundry Congress, TÜDÖKSAD Academy Committee Chairman Seyfi Değirmenci said that the Foundry Congress, which provides good learning, sharing, and discussion platform to the stakeholders of the sector, provides a unity of language and method among businesses. Seyfi Değirmenci, who stated that they were happy to participate in the last congress held under the name of "Sustainable Growth", both in terms of papers and follow-up, emphasized that 48 papers were presented in eight main sessions and practical discussions made significant contributions to the industry and sharing information.
